MDG'15 - uitwisseling Senegal - Dag 5 en 6

Thursday and Friday we had a two-day-workshop with Senegalese teachers on how to work on MDG's in class and school.
We started Thursday with a discussion on the differences and similarities between both educational systems. After presenting the two partners involved (Studio Globo and le collectif de enseignant) Bieze shared the Studio Globo-vision with our Senegalese colleagues. He focussed on education on class-level: experimental learning, system-thinking, an authentic teacherstyle and values and emotions.

After the theory we worked in small groups on practical exercices. Using games for education, reflection-methods, lessons on climate change and five models to approach reality. We shared the experience build up in Belgium and invited the Senegalese teachers to engage in a discussion. This lead to a real exchange of ideas and visions. An enriching experience for both sides.

On friday we continued the work in small groups. Once finished Bieze gave an introduction on how to work on the MDG's on school level; how to involve as many stakeholders as possible.
We introduced the DEFRA-methode to start the evaluation on the impact of the two days workshops. For us it was a marvellous experience. The Senegalese teachers told us that the work was really usefull for them. And Latif told us, that it was no windowdressing to make feel the Belgian teachers happy, they really appreciated what we did. That's good to hear.

Most of the job is done now. Finishing some small things and tomorow leaving for Dakar. Visiting Gorée, the slave island, and then leaving for Belgium. Where king winter reigns. Brrrrrr.

We can't finish our blog without thanking al those Senegalese friends and colleagues who made our trip the succes it was, Sheikh, Touré, le principal,... But in the first place our guide and friend in Senegal, Latif. Many many thanks.

Thanks to you all for following our adventures in Senegal. Excuses for our stone-coal-English. But, you know what, our French his even worse. Poor Senegalese teachers. We'll met in Belgium. Inch Allah.
