Studio Globo is an NGO for development, specialized in global and intercultural education in schools, going from nursery schools to primary and secondary schools and even certain colleges.

Who are we?

Vision

Studio Globo sees the world as a fascinating and multicoloured place filled with possibilities and opportunities. But also filled with many challenges, because there is not done justice to everyone on this planet.
Stemming from the belief in the unique value of every human being Studio Globo strives for equal opportunities for all and takes action for sustainable development, along with many allies. Both in its own society and worldwide, because there is only one world.

Mandate

Studio Globo gives impetus to creating an open and respectful attitude towards people from other cultures. This is of vital importance in achieving interdependence and solidarity.
Together with teachers and other actors, Studio Globo encourages and supports learning processes. To this purpose they have developed a varied offer of educational methods and teaching materials tailored to the different audiences.

The teacher as a key figure

Children and youngsters interpret the world. They organize and appreciate it based on certain models. Educators pass on the meanings and attitudes to which they, as adults, have access. Building up an open attitude, a commitment and solidarity among children and youngsters, implies that their supervisors convey these values. However good your educational influence as an organisation might be, the teacher has the highest impact on the transmission of values and standards. Therefore Studio Globo sets great store by the training of teachers.

A variety of educational trainings for teachers, ranging from nursery school to college teachers
We offer a wide range of educational trainings. These are focused on practice and based on practical teaching methods and materials. Starting from practice we also try to pass on a substantial content in the matter.

Network

In the General Assembly of Studio Globo, the three major networks represented are: Flemish Secretariat of the Catholic Education (VSKO), the Secretary of Education of Cities and Municipalities of the Flemish Community (OVSG) and GO!, The education of the Flemish Community.

Also involved: Broederlijk Delen, Centre for Equal Opportunities and Opposition to Racism, Chirojeugd Flanders, Kerkwerk Multicultural Society, Missio, Pax Christi Flanders, Flemish Centre of Minorities and Welfare.

Studio Globo, together with Broederlijk Delen forms the grouping KOMYUNITI. Studio Globo is a member of 11.11.11-Dome of the Flemish North- South Movement and Coprogram, the federation of NGOs. Studio Globo participates in discussions of NGOs in the various provinces.

Studio Globo is part of the NGO cooperation around the Millennium Development Goals: "2015 The time runs" and tries to translate these themes into educational materials.

A cross-border cooperation with 'Le Partenariat' in Lille led to the development of an immersion studio about Senegal.
